 The stones used for treatments are specifically chosen for their therapeutic
properties such as basalt (for heating) which has been polished and shaped flat and smooth by rivers and oceans, and marble (for cooling) which stays cold and absorbs body heat. LaStone therapists believe that the natural stones that they use contain the earth’s healing energy and due to their varying weight, size and temperature, have the added benefit of enabling easy relaxation of the muscles, allowing the therapist to apply deeper pressure, if desired, with little manual effort.
The incorporation of combined hot and cold stones enables your body to be healed, whilst at the same time allowing you to enter a sublime level of relaxation which may never have been experienced before with any other deep tissue work. | What can I expect during LaStone Therapy? |

 The massage therapist often begins by applying oil to the body which allows the hot stones to glide smoothly along the muscles and helps warm them up. While you’re sitting, the therapist places two rows of warm stones on the treatment table in alignment with both sides of your spine before covering them with a soft towel to protect you from the heat.
You will then be assisted to lie back down on the stones. The therapist will then place stones of varying weights on your body’s key energy channels, including the seven main chakras. Smaller sized pebbles are then placed between your toes with flat stones in your palms while the therapist then uses both hot and cool stones as an extension of her hand while massaging your body.
| When should you not have a LaStone therapy? |

The therapist will not treat those with infectious skin disease, rash or open wounds, immediately after surgery, radiation or chemotherapy - unless recommended by your doctor. It is also not advisable for people prone to blood clots as there’s a risk of blood clots being dislodged. If you have heart disease or are pregnant, check with your doctor first. LaStone Therapy should not be carried out directly over bruises, inflamed, unhealed wounds, tumors, abdominal hernia or areas of recent fracture.

 Eyelash tinting is a safe and quick treatment to enhance the general appearance of the eyes by creating more definition to the lashes, making them appear longer and thicker. It will change the appearance of your facial features making your eyes more noticeable. Blue eyes appear bluer, green eyes appear brighter, and brown eyes appear deeper.
A range of colours and shades are available to cater for all skin types and colour. It is great for people with very light coloured eyelashes who want to ensure that they have definition at all times. The treatment is also popular for those who have changed their natural hair colour and want their eyelashes to match and blend in. There are different colours to choose from and the effect lasts for up to 6 weeks.

 Waxing is the longest-lasting method of semi-permanent hair removal which removes large amounts of hair at one time. New hairs will not grow back in the previously waxed area for approximately 3 to 6 weeks. When wax is warm, it enters the follicle, allowing the hair to be pulled out from the root. Areas that are repeatedly waxed often exhibit re-growth that is softer and lighter in colour and the amount re-growing will be permanently reduced.
Waxing can be quite painful (depending on the client’s pain threshold), especially the first time it is done, and for this reason many people prefer to have it done professionally. The best antidote to the pain of waxing is to try to relax. When a client is tense, the follicle closes and the wax doesn't reach the root of the hair. Many clients find that by taking a painkiller about one hour before any waxing treatment it helps reduce any discomfort they may experience. Subsequent treatments become less painful as the hair follicles are weakened.
